SAMV (Steunpunt Allochtone Meisjes en Vrouwen, currently renamed ELLA), is a Flemish Feminist Organization based in Brussels. It focuses on helping immigrant women newly resident in Belgium. I volunteered to interview Iraqi, Kurdish and Turkish immigrants for SAMV, and wrote reports on the difficulties they faced. The interviews were collected in the following book: “Gewoon, Mijn Leven In Eigen Handen: Analyze van het Leven van Nieuwskomersvrouwen ter Versterking van hun Maatschapelijke Positie” published by Ella vzw.
